Spaghetti O Copy Cat

This is my go to recipe for the kids pasta sauce. No matter what pasta shape I use, this is the sauce!

It’s also a great sauce to hide pureed veggies in. Anything from squash to carrots! All you have to do is cook the veggie until soft, mash or blend it and then mix it right into the sauce. They’ll be getting all those nutrients without even knowing it! That’s a win for mom.

I do have a couple of notes:

ALPHABET SHAPED PASTA
I get these small packages in the authentic Mexican brands section at Winco. If your store doesn’t have them it’s okay to use any shape pasta. My 3 year old loves the alphabets! I did a quick search and found that they are in a variety of stores or easily order them online.

NUTRITIONAL YEAST
What is it? Simply, it’s a deactivated yeast that is packed with Vitamin B1 and B2. Because the nutty or cheesy flavor, it is often used among vegetarian and vegan crowds as a substitute for cheese. I find it in the bulk isle of my grocery store, but if you can’t find it locally you can get some here.
